Umbria reports economic growth in business investment and tourism

The Umbria region is experiencing significant economic growth across both the industrial and tourism sectors. An analysis by the Umbria Chamber of Commerce of over 10,000 financial statements from 2025 shows a strong increase in fixed assets. The average value per company rose from 767,147 to 896,387 euros, representing a 16.8% increase in net operating capital. This growth is driven by investments in buildings, plants, and machinery, particularly in the provinces of Perugia and Terni, though intangible capital such as software and patents saw a 2.5% decline.

Simultaneously, the tourism sector in Umbria is showing robust upward trends. Regional Councilor Simona Meloni reported that during the first eight months of 2026, the region recorded over 5.6 million presences, a 3.1% increase compared to 2025. While international arrivals saw a seasonal dip in August due to geopolitical tensions and extreme heat, the domestic market remains strong, with arrivals increasing by 8.9% in the first eight months of the year.
