Umesh Yadav leaves Vidarbha to seek new domestic cricket team
Veteran Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav has decided to end his 18-year association with Vidarbha. Having obtained a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA), the 38-year-old is now seeking opportunities with other domestic state teams.
Sources indicate that Yadav's decision was driven by a lack of definitive communication from the VCA selection panel regarding his future role within the team, despite him being fully fit. He is reportedly in discussions with two to three other state associations, primarily smaller states, though no final decision has been reached.
Yadav, who has claimed 288 wickets in 141 international matches, last represented India during the World Test Championship final in June 2023. His domestic career remains a primary focus as he seeks to continue playing competitive cricket.
