UMEYA BRAINERY to open first cafe-style chocolate shop in Aeon Mall Fukutsu

UMEYA BRAINERY, a bean-to-bar chocolate specialist based in Munakata, Fukuoka, will open its first cafe-style location at Aeon Mall Fukutsu on September 4, 2026. The new store will feature an eat-in space designed to make high-quality craft chocolate more accessible to a wide range of customers, including families, students, and seniors.

The company, which originated from the mentaiko manufacturer ‘Umeya’, focuses on products made using only cacao beans and cane sugar. Menu items at the new location will include bean-to-bar chocolate, cacao nib honey soft serve, and chocolate sandwich cookies.

Beyond retail, the company aims to foster community through workshops and direct trade storytelling. UMEYA BRAINERY also intends to strengthen its involvement in domestic cacao cultivation projects within Fukuoka Prefecture to eventually produce chocolate using locally grown cacao.
