UMF Carol Davila launches hospital school for long-term patients

The Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMFCD) in Bucharest is launching ‘Hospital School’, a pre-university educational project designed for children and students undergoing long-term hospitalization. The initiative aims to ensure educational continuity and reduce the risk of school dropout for patients who cannot attend their regular schools due to medical conditions.

Educational activities will follow the national curriculum but will be adapted to each student's health status, level of preparation, and physical capacity. Teachers will be selected through the National Teachers' Corps to support the program. The project involves several partner institutions, including the Ministry of Education and Research and the Bucharest School Inspectorate.

The program will serve beneficiaries in ten partner hospitals across the capital, including the Fundeni Clinical Institute, the Alexandrescu-Rusescu National Institute for Mother and Child Health, and the Grigore Alexandrescu Children's Emergency Clinical Hospital, among others.
