UMKE conducts flood rescue drill in Yozgat

The National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) conducted a three-day training and drill camp at Kirazlı Pond in Yozgat. The exercise involved 62 specialized personnel and 20 vehicles from the Yozgat, Kırıkkale, and Kırşehir regions.

The final phase of the drill simulated a dam burst and subsequent flood disaster. Teams practiced searching for injured citizens swept away by floodwaters in riverbeds and bushy areas. The simulation included performing triage on victims, transporting them to emergency intervention tents, and coordinating their transfer to hospitals.

Yozgat Governor Mehmet Ali Özkan observed the exercise, noting that the teams were well-organized and the drill was executed realistically. Yozgat Provincial Health Director Dr. Mehmet Akif Karaarslan confirmed that the training focused on the seamless integration of triage, emergency intervention, and hospital transport during large-scale disasters.
