UMSNH offers free IMSS health insurance for new students

The Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH) announced that all newly enrolled undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students are entitled to a free facultative health insurance provided by the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS). The benefit covers medical, hospital and surgical care, as well as treatments.

To obtain the coverage, students must obtain their Social Security Number and proof of enrollment, then submit the required documents either in person at the affiliation module next to the Languages building on campus or through an online form. After submission, confirmation is received within 72 hours.
