UMSNH Rector attends start of Mexico's 2026-2027 electoral process

Yarabí Ávila González, rector of the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), attended the installation session of the National Electoral Institute (INE) General Council in Mexico City. The event marked the official start of the 2026-2027 Concurrent Federal Electoral Process.

During the civic ceremony, the UMSNH Honor Guard and War Band participated in the flag honors. The rector emphasized the role of universities in promoting democracy, citizen participation, and transparency. The event included the presence of Interior Secretary Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, representing President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, and INE President Guadalupe Taddei Zavala.
