UMSNH Rector Yarabí Ávila welcomes new students

Yarabí Ávila González, rector of the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), welcomed new students for the 2026-2027 academic cycle during a tour of the university campus in Morelia.

During her visit to various faculties, Ávila encouraged students to participate in academic, sporting, and cultural activities. She emphasized the university's commitment to a ‘culture of peace,’ promoting respect and a zero-tolerance policy toward violence. She urged students to report any human rights violations, stating, ‘Do not be afraid to raise your voice, you will always be supported by us.’

Additionally, the rector advised incoming students to register for the faculty insurance (seguro facultativo) to access health benefits and to obtain their institutional identification cards. She noted that many applicants were unable to secure spots at the institution and urged those who were admitted to make the most of the opportunity.
