UMusic Hotels to transform historic building in Kansas City
UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle and UMH Development LLC have announced plans to convert the historic Scarritt Building in downtown Kansas City into the 169-room UMusic Hotel Kansas City. The adaptive reuse project is inspired by the city’s jazz heritage and is expected to begin construction in the fourth quarter of this year.
Located near the Power & Light District and the T-Mobile Center, the development will feature a 309-unit branded residential tower, a music and entertainment venue, a professional recording studio, and a retail store. Additional amenities will include a luxury spa, fitness center, and multiple food and beverage options, such as a rooftop restaurant and lounge.
This expansion follows the company’s 2022 launch of a music-themed hotel in Madrid and precedes planned projects in Austin, Texas. UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle operates in partnership with Universal Music Group.
