UN Global Compact hosts AI and sustainability forums in Colombia and Chile

The 16th UN Global Compact Congress Red Colombia took place on 24‑25 August 2026 at the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, bringing together CEOs, UN representatives and academics to discuss how artificial intelligence can support corporate sustainability, ethical governance and climate action. Organized by Pacto Global Red Colombia with support from the UN Global Compact and the Bogotá Chamber, the event highlighted AI’s role in risk management, innovation and competitiveness while stressing human‑rights safeguards.

In Chile, Pacto Global Chile convened a second dialogue of its “Business Case for Sustainability” series, titled “Collective Action: Alliances that Scale Impact.” The meeting gathered business leaders, union officials, university researchers and innovators to address the future of work amid AI‑driven transformation, demographic shifts and new employment models. Participants such as Hernán Araneda of Fundación Chile and Boris Garrido of CUT Chile emphasized the need for continuous skill development and permanent social dialogue to harness technology for inclusive growth.
