West Bank aid access restricted by over 900 physical obstacles
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned that humanitarian operations in the West Bank are being severely restricted by a network of over 900 physical obstacles, including checkpoints, gates, and roadblocks. These restrictions are delaying the delivery of essential supplies such as food, water, medicine, and baby formula.
In the village of Qusra near Nablus, three Palestinian families have been trapped since Tuesday following the establishment of a settlement outpost near their homes. Despite efforts by UN partners and municipal workers, aid has not yet reached those stuck inside. In the northern West Bank, OCHA reported that since January, aid organizations have provided vital services, including psychosocial support, to approximately 30,000 children and 15,000 adults.
In the Gaza Strip, humanitarian workers continue to provide aid despite ongoing insecurity. Last week, attacks and domestic fires affected hundreds of households, leading to further displacement. UN partners also mobilized support for those who lost shelter due to recent incidents.
