Una canción para mi tierra documentary highlights rural environmental activism

The documentary “Una canción para mi tierra”, directed by Mauricio Albornoz, explores a musical and pedagogical project born in rural schools in Córdoba and Santa Fe, Argentina. The film follows music teacher Ramiro Lezcano, who responded to the health risks posed by aerial and terrestrial agrochemical spraying near schools by composing songs with his students.

Through the project “Canciones urgentes para mi tierra”, students used music to raise environmental awareness within their communities. Despite facing resistance in regions heavily dependent on agricultural production, the initiative culminated in a large-scale outdoor concert described as an “environmental Woodstock.” The film is being screened at venues such as Cine Arte Córdoba and the Centro Cultural 25 de Mayo.
