Naples hosts major global pizza championships and rankings

Major international pizza competitions and rankings were recently concluded in Naples, Italy. The 50 Top Pizza World 2026 guide named London-based Napoli on the Road, led by Michele Pascarella, as the world's best pizzeria. New York's Una Pizza Napoletana, managed by Anthony Mangieri, secured the second-place position.

Simultaneously, the Vera Pizza Napoletana Champion 2026 competition brought together 355 contestants from 30 countries. While Italy won the Lello Surace Nations Cup with seven pizzaioli reaching the podium, Japan achieved top honors in the Margherita and Marinara categories. The events highlighted a global expansion of traditional Neapolitan techniques, with notable performances from competitors in Portugal, South Korea, and Chile.
