Una regatta opens in Bihać, drawing hundreds of rafters

The 52nd International Tourist Una Regatta was inaugurated on Friday evening at the Lučica camp near Martin Brod, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The ceremony was attended by Bihać mayor Elvedin Sedić, Canton Ministry of Economy representative Damir Redžić, Canton Prime Minister Mustafa Ružnić and National Park Una director Amir Kosović. Young kayaker Mako Redžić formally opened the event, which was accompanied by live music from Zosko & Folkfingers, Mirza Malkoč, Retro, Euforia and others.

The three‑day regatta will see participants paddle from Martin Brod to the Štrbački buk waterfall, continue to Bihać and finish in Bosanska Krupa, forming what organizers call the largest water caravan in the country. Thousands of visitors and hundreds of rafters are expected, promoting tourism, sport and the natural heritage of the Una River and its national park.

The Una Regatta, a half‑century‑old tradition, is highlighted as a key tourist brand for the Una‑Sana Canton, attracting both domestic and foreign guests and showcasing one of the most scenic rivers in Europe.
