Una-Sana Canton Prime Minister dismisses six former advisors

Upon assuming office, Ibrahim Dizdarić, the new Prime Minister of Una-Sana Canton (USK), dismissed six advisors previously employed by his predecessor, Mustafa Ružnić. This move is estimated to save the USK budget at least 216,000 KM annually.

The dismissal has raised concerns regarding political patronage, as each party in the former parliamentary majority reportedly had one advisor in the Prime Minister's cabinet. Public debate has emerged over whether these positions were filled based on professional expertise or as part of political job distribution.

Additionally, reports indicate the outgoing administration utilized the option to appoint ministerial advisors for the first time since the Canton's inception. This included the Minister of Education, who had two advisors despite being unable to perform duties following an arrest and investigation. Each advisor's monthly salary was reported to be approximately 3,000 KM.
