UNAFEC president rejects Lubumbashi reconciliation agreement
Mireille Masangu Bibi Muloko, president of the Union Nationale des Fédéralistes du Congo (UNAFEC), has officially rejected a reconciliation agreement signed in Lubumbashi on August 8. The agreement, intended to promote coexistence regarding the heirs of Kyungu wa Kumwanza, included several political actors and formations.
Masangu clarified that her organization did not mandate any representative to participate in the ceremony. She specifically identified Jean-Ladislas Umba Lungange, who was presented as an UNAFEC representative, as a dissident lacking the authority to engage the party. Masangu asserted that the UNAFEC she leads is the only version recognized by the institutions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Denouncing the unauthorized use of the party's name as a violation of national political party regulations, Masangu called upon the Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior to intervene. She requested that the government uphold legislation regarding the legal functioning of political parties and prevent the illegal doubling of political organizations.
