UNAH acquires flight simulator for aviation students

The National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) has acquired a modern flight simulator to enhance the training of its aviation students. The equipment is intended to support students in the Aeronautical Operations and University Technician in Flight Operations programs by allowing them to practice aviation procedures within a controlled training environment.

Originating from the United States, the simulator will be installed in the Wind Tunnel Laboratory of the Aeronautical Sciences Building. According to Iván Betancourt, the coordinator of aeronautical careers, the tool will help students meet required simulator practice hours and gain familiarity with flight instruments and safety procedures without the use of a real aircraft.

While the simulator provides immersive training, the university noted that these activities do not replace all training requirements mandated by aviation authorities. The equipment will be integrated into the academic curriculum in accordance with established regulations.
