Unai Simon draws praise for driving modest Renault

Spanish goalkeeper Unai Simon has drawn attention for his modest lifestyle, specifically regarding his choice of vehicle. Despite his high-profile career as a European and World champion with Spain, the 29-year-old continues to drive a Renault Vel Satis.

Simon, who has remained loyal to Athletic Bilbao throughout his career, stated in interviews that he has owned the car for eight years. He expressed his intention to continue using the vehicle as long as it remains functional, noting, “I have a car and I will drive it until the engine gives out.” He added that if it serves him for another eight years, even better, and it will stay with him as long as it can take him to training in Lezamu.
