Nicaragua advances technical and digital education initiatives

Nicaragua is advancing technical and digital education through several national initiatives. The Ministry of Education (MINED) held the national stage of the ‘JovenTech’ Festival, where 19 student teams presented technological solutions for social and educational challenges, such as mobile applications for mathematics and environmental preservation.

In the field of robotics, the Regional Robotics Olympiad in Managua has identified qualifying teams for the National Robotics Olympiad. Winners from various categories will compete for a chance to represent Nicaragua at the 2026 World Robotics Olympiad in Puerto Rico.

To support Industry 4.0, INATEC and Taller Luban Nicaragua have launched specialized training programs. These free courses cover advanced manufacturing, automation, the Internet of Things (IoT), and programming. The training, supported by cooperation with China, aims to prepare a specialized workforce for national and foreign investment projects. Additionally, INATEC has presented its 2027 technical training offerings to secondary students in Bilwi to promote professional technical careers.
