JetSmart Airbus A321neo Vandalized at Santiago Airport

Two individuals breached the secured area of Santiago's Arturo Merino Benítez Airport and sprayed graffiti on a JetSmart Airbus A321neo that still bore the former Wizz Air livery. The markings included the pseudonyms “ro roro” and “centeee” and a stylised sad‑cat image. The aircraft is part of a trio of A321neos delivered in late 2025 after being leased from a Hungarian lessor to JetSmart; they remain parked on a taxiway and have not entered service.

Airport security checks at 22:11 h reported no issues, but cameras and motion sensors failed, allowing the intruders to reach the plane. Chilean police (PDI) announced in early August that the suspects were identified and arrested. The graffiti will need to be removed before the aircraft can be used, and JetSmart has not yet clarified when the planes will enter operation.
