UNC Athletics Earn Academic Honors for Women's Basketball and Baseball

The University of North Carolina's athletics programs received academic recognitions for the 2025‑26 school year. UNC Asheville women's basketball earned a Special Academic Mention from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association after posting a 3.233 team GPA, marking the second consecutive year and the fifth time in program history the Bulldogs have been honored. Head coach Tynesha Lewis praised the balance of athletics and scholarship.

Meanwhile, UNC baseball was awarded the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The team was one of only three participants in the 2026 Men's College World Series to achieve the distinction.
