UNC Basketball Michael Malone NBA Mock Draft Matt Able College Basketball Recruiting

Several players on Michael Malone’s first North Carolina basketball roster are already appearing in early 2027 NBA mock drafts. Guard Matt Able, a transfer from NC State, is a primary focus. ESPN ranked him 16th overall, while The Athletic placed him 26th and Bleacher Report ranked him 45th.

Center Sayon Keita, an 18-year-old who previously played in FC Barcelona’s youth program, also appears in mock drafts. ESPN ranked Keita at No. 25, while Bleacher Report placed him at No. 46.

Malone’s recruiting efforts have included landing Neoklis Avdalas, Terrence Brown, and Matt Able. Analysts suggest Malone’s professional experience has provided a recruiting advantage in building roster depth and talent for the Tar Heels.
