UNC Basketball prepares for preseason exhibition and roster evaluation

The North Carolina Tar Heels are preparing for their final preseason exhibition game against Charlotte. As the team transitions under coach Michael Malone, attention is focused on roster composition and player performance.

Transfer guard Terrence Brown, who averaged 19.9 points per game in 2025 for Utah, has faced scrutiny following lackluster performances in two exhibition games. Brown has struggled with shooting efficiency, recording 5-of-14 from the field and 1-of-4 from the free-throw line during the preseason contests.

Additionally, the program is integrating new talent, including Greek forward Alex Samodurov, who brings professional and international experience to the frontcourt. The team is also managing the impact of recent recruiting, including four-star recruit Kevin Thomas, who joined the program following coaching changes at LSU.
