UNC coach Michael Malone offers scholarships to six of the top seven 2027 basketball recruits

College basketball coach Michael Malone of the University of North Carolina announced scholarship offers to six of the seven highest‑ranked prospects in the 2027 recruiting class. The headline offer went to five‑star center Lewis Uvwo, the No. 1 center and No. 6 overall player, after a standout performance at the Peach Jam event.

Additional offers were extended to guard NaVorro Bowman Jr., a top‑ranked combo guard from California, and other highly rated prospects. Malone’s aggressive recruiting push places UNC in direct competition with programs such as Duke, Mississippi State, LSU, Kansas and Kentucky for these elite players.
