UNC football faces investigation into staff conduct and drug use

The University of North Carolina football program is facing a university-led investigation into its culture and staff conduct. The probe is reportedly focusing on defensive coordinator Steve Belichick, specifically investigating whether he used drugs on the job or provided drugs to players. Additionally, lawyers are examining allegations of improper sexual relationships between recruiting staff and players, as well as between assistant coaches and recruiting staff.

UNC football general manager Michael Lombardi resigned on Thursday amid the expanding inquiry. Investigators are also looking into whether head coach Bill Belichick was informed of any improper interactions between staff members and players.

On the field, the Tar Heels recently secured a victory against the TCU Horned Frogs in Dublin. The win highlighted several standout players, including defensive tackle Xavier Lewis, tight end Jelani Thurman, and offensive lineman Andrew Threatt.
