Indiana defeats North Carolina 76-58 in preseason basketball
The Indiana Hoosiers secured a decisive 76-58 exhibition victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Indiana controlled much of the contest, particularly through rebounding and interior presence, holding a 41-29 lead at halftime.
Indiana's Bryce Lindsay led all scorers with 26 points, including 18 in the first half. Other notable contributors for the Hoosiers included Darren Harris, Markus Burton, and Sam Alexis, who each scored 11, 11, and 10 points respectively. The team's defensive length was evident as they outrebounded North Carolina 53-31.
For the Tar Heels, freshman Sayon Keita provided a strong interior performance with 12 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks. Matt Able also contributed significantly with 11 points, including three three-pointers. Despite these efforts, North Carolina struggled with shooting efficiency and depth in the post, failing to convert many opportunities into second-chance points.
