UNC Tar Heels defeat TCU Horned Frogs in Dublin
The University of North Carolina (UNC) Tar Heels defeated the Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs 15–10 in the 2026 Aer Lingus College Football Classic held at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
In a game played under wet conditions, TCU initially took a 10–3 lead in the first quarter. However, the Tar Heels defense prevented TCU from scoring for the remainder of the match. UNC leveled the score at 10–10 before securing a 12–10 lead via a safety in the first half. A third-quarter field goal extended the lead to 15–10, which held until the final whistle.
Key individual performances included UNC quarterback Billy Edwards Jr., who threw for 232 yards in his first start, and defensive tackle Xavier Lewis, who recorded two sacks in his first career start. The victory marks the first international game in the UNC football program's history and serves as a significant result for head coach Bill Belichick.
