UNC Women's Basketball Announces 2026‑27 Non‑Conference Schedule

The University of North Carolina women's basketball program released its 2026‑27 non‑conference slate, featuring 14 games that fill the full complement allowed under the NCAA’s new 32‑game regular‑season limit. Nine of the matchups will be played at home, giving the Tar Heels their highest number of home games since the 2017‑18 season.

The schedule includes power‑four opponents from the ACC, SEC, Big 12 and Pac‑12, all of which reached the NCAA Tournament last year, with three advancing to the Sweet 16. UNC will also compete in three neutral‑site events: the Oui Play tournament in Paris, the Ally Tipoff in Charlotte, and the WBCA Showcase in Orlando. Additionally, the team will visit the historic Palestra in Philadelphia for the first time. Home games are slated for Thanksgiving week, including a Black‑Friday contest that drew the season’s largest non‑conference crowd.

These matchups are designed to strengthen the program’s résumé and position the Tar Heels for a potential NCAA Tournament host bid while extending their Sweet 16 streak to three consecutive years.
