UNC Women's Basketball highlights freshman performance and 2027 commitments

Freshman guard Kate Harpring made a significant impact in her debut for the North Carolina Tar Heels women's basketball team, scoring 29 points in an exhibition game against No. 20 Maryland. Despite her performance, UNC lost the matchup 72-68.

Regarding future recruitment, the UNC women's basketball program has secured two 5-star commitments for the 2027 class. Micah Ojo, a forward from Virginia Beach, and Ryan Carter, a guard from Pennsylvania, have both committed to play under head coach Courtney Banghart.
