No. 8 North Carolina women's soccer opened their 2026 regular season with a 4-0 shutout victory against Fairfield at Dorrance Field. The Tar Heels dominated possession, limiting Fairfield to just one shot on goal throughout the match.

Sophomores Hope Munson and Bella Devey each scored two goals to secure the win. Munson opened the scoring in the ninth minute, followed by a second goal in the 33rd minute. Devey extended the lead with two goals in the second half, scoring in the 57th and 64th minutes.

Following this victory, North Carolina prepares to host Quinnipiac for their second match of the season. The Tar Heels will be playing without Amari Manning and Deus Stanislaus, who are currently attending a U-17 national team camp.
