Uncontrolled burns trigger separate fires in Ecuador and Mexico

Separate incidents involving uncontrolled burns have resulted in fires in Latacunga, Ecuador, and Ciudad Victoria, Mexico.

In Latacunga, a controlled waste burn escalated into a fire affecting approximately 200 square meters of land near the Tomás de Berlanga street sector. The fire involved eucalyptus wood and vegetation. Firefighters from the X3-Nintinacazo company responded to the scene, using cooling lines to extinguish the flames and remove debris. No injuries were reported.

In Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, a copper burn went out of control, causing a house fire in the Azteca neighborhood. Two individuals were treated for smoke inhalation. Local residents reported that the fire may have been caused by an individual allegedly under the influence of a substance, and noted that the property was being used to accumulate waste, which aided the fire's spread. Civil Protection units responded to control the blaze.
