Underberg to open first official Brazilian store in Pomerode
The German digestif brand Underberg is set to open its first official store in Brazil in 2027. The retail space will be located in Pomerode, Santa Catarina, within the PomerMarkt, a new gastronomic market currently under construction in the city's historic center.
The store's architecture will be inspired by the Underberg factory in Rheinberg, Germany. The brand, which has produced its herbal digestive since 1846, is known globally for its single-dose bottles wrapped in brown paper. The expansion into Pomerode was negotiated with the participation of Semper, the brand's official distributor in Brazil, and is being closely monitored by the German headquarters.
In addition to traditional digestifs, the shop will offer seasonal products, collectible cans, and a range of souvenirs—including glassware, apparel, and bar accessories—some of which were previously restricted to the European market. The PomerMarkt project is expected to house 15 different operations, including restaurants and shops.
