Understanding inflammation and abdominal bloating
Inflammation is a natural immune response designed to protect the body from injury or infection. Acute inflammation often presents with visible signs such as redness, heat, swelling, and pain, serving as a signal that the body is repairing damage. In contrast, chronic inflammation can be more difficult to detect because it may persist without causing immediate pain.
Abdominal bloating or distension is a common discomfort that can be caused by swallowing air, constipation, overeating, lactose intolerance, or irritable bowel syndrome. While certain low-intensity yoga practices involving movement and gentle twists may support digestive well-being and assist individuals with irritable bowel syndrome, these activities are complementary wellness habits rather than medical treatments for underlying digestive diseases.
