Undip students protest against Prabowo-Gibran administration

Hundreds of students from Diponegoro University (Undip) held a demonstration in front of the Central Java DPRD office in Semarang to criticize the administration of President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran. Protesters displayed banners stating “Rakyat Diatas Militer” (People Above the Military), expressing concerns over what they described as overly militaristic leadership and a centralized command system.

Fadhil Dzikra, head of the Social and Political Affairs division of the Undip Student Executive Board (BEM), stated that the movement demands the decentralization and democratization of government governance. The protesters presented five primary demands, including increased transparency and public oversight in strategic state policies, the protection of civic space, food security policies to ensure affordability, and equitable development management to protect coastal communities.
