UNDP and Blockchain for Good Alliance launch cybersecurity programme

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA) have signed an agreement to launch a two-year cybersecurity programme. The initiative aims to strengthen knowledge and capacity for the responsible use of digital technologies in development sectors.

Signed in Singapore at the Cybersecurity, Trust and Digital Safety Launch Summit, the partnership will be implemented by the UNDP Alternative Finance Lab (AltFinLab) in collaboration with BGA. The programme intends to leverage BGA’s global ecosystem to provide advisory support and hands-on learning to help public institutions manage cyber risks, protect public funds, and safeguard essential services such as identity management, payments, and aid delivery.

The collaboration comes as governments face increasingly complex threats, including AI-enabled fraud and sophisticated cyberattacks. The initiative focuses on building resilient, trusted digital systems through public-private partnerships.
