UNDP and Cisco partner to boost digital skills for Nigerian youth
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Cisco have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Abuja to expand digital skills training and employment opportunities for young Nigerians. The partnership operates under the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP), a Federal Government initiative funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the UNDP.
Under the agreement, Cisco will provide digital learning content and training valued at over $52.7 million through its Networking Academy platform. The initiative aims to reach up to 50,000 learners annually over the next three years, helping them acquire industry-relevant skills to participate in the digital economy.
The NJFP has previously placed nearly 35,000 fellows with more than 11,000 host organizations across Nigeria. This new collaboration seeks to strengthen the transition from learning to earning by providing mentorship and practical experience to graduates.
