UNDP invites Ghana's Local Government Minister to Northern Peace Conference

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has invited Ghana’s Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, to the Northern Peace Conference in Tamale. Scheduled for October 26 to 27, 2026, at the Global Dreams Hotel, the two-day event is organized in partnership with the Parliamentary Northern Caucus, the National Peace Council, and the Northern Development Authority.

The conference aims to strengthen peacebuilding, social cohesion, and inclusive dialogue across Northern Ghana. It is intended to serve as a strategic platform for policymakers, traditional authorities, civil society, security institutions, and representatives of youth and women to address emerging peace and security dynamics and identify pathways for sustainable development in the region.
