Unemat Announces Student Housing Aid of up to R$400 per Month in Brazil
The Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (Unemat) opened applications for financial assistance aimed at students facing socioeconomic vulnerability. A total of 500 scholarships are available, split evenly between food and housing support. Each housing aid grant provides up to R$400 monthly for students who must relocate to attend on‑campus classes or who live in rural areas without public transport, while the food aid offers R$300 per month and can also be claimed by distance‑learning students.
Eligibility requires regular enrollment at Unemat, family income of no more than 1.5 minimum wages per person, and compliance with the program’s criteria. Applicants with formal employment, active business registration, or existing similar benefits are excluded. The selection process involves a socioeconomic questionnaire, document review, and interview, with results expected on 11 September and payments beginning that month through December.
