Unemat Journalism course hosts lecture on ALMT public communication
Journalist José Marques, Deputy Secretary of Communication for the Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso (ALMT), delivered a lecture on public communication at the State University of Mato Grosso (Unemat) in Tangará da Serra. The event was part of the 20th-anniversary celebrations of Unemat’s Journalism course.
Marques highlighted the challenges of making public information clearer, increasing transparency, and bridging the gap between legislative decisions and the daily lives of citizens. He emphasized that public communication should explain laws, debates, and projects in a way that is easily understood by the population.
To achieve this, the ALMT utilizes a strategy of simple language in accordance with Law No. 12.336/2023, aiming to demystify technical terms. The Assembly's Communication Secretariat (Secom) employs various platforms, including television, radio, websites, social media, and live broadcasts, to reach diverse audiences and encourage civic participation.
