Unemployment Rate Falls Slightly to 3.30% in Bistriţa‑Năsăud, Romania (June 2026)

At the end of June 2026 the County Employment Agency (AJOFM) in Bistriţa‑Năsăud recorded 3,674 unemployed persons, giving a unemployment rate of 3.30 %. This represents a marginal decline of 0.01 percentage points from the previous month.

Of the registered unemployed, 1,948 were women; 1,656 received unemployment benefits while 2,018 were without benefits. The majority (2,652) lived in rural areas and 1,022 in urban areas. Age distribution showed 275 under 25, 199 between 25‑29, 396 between 30‑39, 217 between 40‑49, 221 between 50‑55, and 1,135 over 55.

Education levels were dominated by secondary school graduates (70.97 %), followed by those with primary (11.21 %) and gymnasium (9.50 %) schooling. Only 2.43 % held university degrees. Regarding employability, 471 were classified as very hard to place, 492 as hard to place, 2,439 as medium, and 272 as easy to place.
