Unes Maxi approved to acquire Emmeci and Mega

Italy’s Competition and Market Authority (AGCM) has approved the full acquisition of grocery retailer Emmeci and property entity Mega by Unes Maxi. Unes Maxi is a subsidiary of Gruppo Finiper Canova.

The transaction is expected to consolidate Unes’s presence in the Lombardy region. The deal includes 30 affiliated MD banner discount stores managed by Emmeci, as well as commercial property assets held by Mega under the sole control of the Finiper Group.
