UNESCO and Latin American Institutions Launch Free AI Ethics Courses
UNESCO and LG AI Research launched a free worldwide AI ethics course on Coursera. The ten‑module program, announced on 20 July 2026, is open to technologists, policymakers, students and professionals and costs nothing to enroll.
In Chile, about 40 teachers and academic leaders at Santo Tomás Iquique earned certification in Professional Ethics on 29‑30 July 2026. The training, organized by the National Directorate of Training and Identity together with the Center of Tomistic Studies, aimed to equip educators to address AI, digital transformation and complex societal challenges.
In Argentina, the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste introduced a five‑month, fully online Superior Diploma in Learning Ecosystems with AI. The diploma comprises two mandatory and six elective modules, a final integrative project, and totals 160 hours. Each module is priced at ARS 20,000, and participants receive certificates for completed modules.
