Unespar Apucarana resumes in-person classes following storm repairs

The State University of Paraná (Unespar) Apucarana campus has announced the resumption of in-person academic activities across all shifts starting Tuesday, November 3. This marks the end of the emergency remote learning regime established following severe storm damage on September 21.

The storm caused significant damage to campus infrastructure, specifically compromising roofs and causing leaks in classrooms and other facilities. The return to campus is expected to particularly benefit approximately 1,500 students in the evening shift, who previously faced a shortage of adequate classrooms.

Campus director José Ricardo dos Santos stated that recent weeks were dedicated to repairing roofs and replacing broken tiles. While the university restaurant and the library have had their structures and roofs fully restored, some minor repairs continue at the Gralha Azul amphitheater.
