Unfoonk released on parole after YSL RICO sentence

Rapper Quantavious Grier, known professionally as Unfoonk and the older brother of Young Thug, was released on parole from Macon State Prison on August 11, 2026.

Grier’s incarceration followed the revocation of his probation in June 2023. In December 2022, he had pleaded guilty to one count of violating Georgia’s RICO Act and one count of theft by receiving stolen property. His original 12-year sentence included 10 years of probation, which allowed him to remain out of custody provided he adhered to strict conditions, including curfews and restrictions on contacting certain individuals involved in the YSL RICO case.

His probation was revoked after a May 2023 traffic stop by Atlanta police. During the encounter, authorities alleged they discovered a 9 mm Glock inside a vehicle and found marijuana particles on the floorboard. Following the violation, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville ordered Grier to serve nine years and six months in prison.
