UNIA launches 2026-2027 academic year and research programs

The Universidad Internacional de Andalucía (UNIA) has officially opened its 2026-2027 academic year. During the opening ceremony in Seville, which was attended by Rector José Ignacio García and Counselor Jorge Paradela, the institution highlighted its current offering of thirty official master's degrees and its commitment to internationalization and emerging technologies.

In a keynote lecture, Professor José López Barneo discussed the evolution of biomedical research in Andalusia, noting that the region's research standing is now comparable to broader Spanish and European levels. He emphasized the need for improved funding and better integration with the productive sector to continue this growth.

Additionally, the Universidad de Huelva (UHU) and UNIA have launched the 2026/2027 session of their joint Master in Research in Teaching and Learning of Experimental, Social, and Mathematical Sciences. This inter-university program, which has existed for over two decades, provides specialized training and serves as a pathway to doctoral studies. The current cohort includes approximately thirty students from various scientific and humanistic backgrounds.
