Unicaja finances irrigation modernization in Villadangos del Páramo

Unicaja has provided financing to the Comunidad de Regantes del Canal de Villadangos to support the modernization of irrigation systems in the León region of Spain. The project aims to improve water efficiency and sustainability for more than 1,300 farmers located in the Órbigo and Páramo areas.

To fund the investment required by the Irrigation Community, Unicaja has provided 23.74 million euros in loans and 21.6 million euros in guarantees. Additionally, the bank will offer specific financing solutions to individual farmers to help them adapt their facilities to the new infrastructure once the general project is completed.

The agreement was presented in Villadangos del Páramo by Manuel Rubio, Unicaja's Northwest Territorial Director, and Serafín Pérez, president of the Irrigation Community. Rubio emphasized that the initiative represents an opportunity to incorporate new technologies and advance toward more sustainable agriculture in the province of León.
