Unicaja reports 8.1% increase in net profit to 543 million euros

Unicaja reported an attributed net profit of 543 million euros for the period between January and September 2026, representing an 8.1% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The bank attributed this growth to stable recurring income, increased returns from credit portfolios, and fixed-income investments.

Total gross income reached 1,629 million euros, a 3.5% increase. Interest margins grew by 3% to 1,151 million euros, while net commissions rose by 1.3% to 397 million euros. The bank noted that income diversification and balance sheet management helped offset higher deposit costs amid rising interest rates.

The board of directors approved a second cash dividend of 6.42 cents per share, scheduled for payment on December 17. This follows a first dividend of 8.44 cents per share paid on September 24. Total interim payments for the year are expected to reach approximately 382 million euros, a 126% increase over the previous year. Unicaja plans to allocate 95% of its 2026 consolidated net profit to shareholder remuneration, up from 70% in the prior year.
