UniCamillus holds White Coat ceremony for 400 medical students in Rome
At the Auditorium della Conciliazione in Rome, UniCamillus held a White Coat ceremony for 400 fourth-year Medicine and Surgery students. The ceremony marks the students' transition into the clinical internship phase of their education.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani attended as the guest of honor. During his address, Tajani emphasized the human dimension of medicine, stating that while technology saves lives, it must be guided by a physician's sensitivity. He also highlighted the necessity of providing healthcare services to vulnerable populations in Italy's internal areas and stressed the importance of investing in youth training to prevent the loss of national talent.
University Rector Gianni Profita and other faculty members participated in the event, which included a reading of the Declaration of Geneva to reaffirm medical ethical principles. The ceremony also featured a performance by the Carabinieri Band.
