Unicamp celebrated for 60 years of scientific and social contributions
A special session was held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), highlighting its role in science, technology, health, and national development. Presided over by Senator Mara Gabrilli, the session recognized the institution as a reference in Brazil and Latin America for high-impact scientific production and innovation.
Unicamp, founded on October 5, 1966, accounts for approximately 7% of Brazil's total scientific production. Rector Paulo Cesar Montagner attributed the university's success to its people—students, professors, and researchers—while Pro-Rector of Research Ana Maria Frattini Fileti emphasized the importance of technology transfer and sustainable development to promote national sovereignty.
