Unicamp grants Professor Emeritus titles to Fernando Costa and Gastão Wagner

The University Council (Consu) of Unicamp has approved the title of Professor Emeritus for Fernando Ferreira Costa and Gastão Wagner de Souza Campos from the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FCM).

Fernando Costa is a hematologist and senior professor who served as the Rector of Unicamp between 2009 and 2013. His career includes roles as Director of the Faculty and Pro-Rector of Research. Gastão Wagner is a specialist in Collective Health, recognized for his contributions to the implementation of Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS) and the consolidation of public health policies.

Erich Vinicius de Paula, the current Director of the FCM, highlighted their respective contributions to research, student training, and the international recognition of the university.
